2021-2022: I will on sabbatical during the 2021-2022 academic year and will not be accepting research assistants.
Many undergraduate students volunteer in our lab, and later may complete an independent project or senior thesis. We encourage all students to join the lab early, preferably by their sophomore year, but we will consider all applications. We require a minimum of two semesters. During your first semester in the lab, you will volunteer your time (minimum of 5 hours a week). After this, you can apply to receive course credit (independent study) for work in the lab. Students receiving course credit sign up for 9 hours in the lab, and write a paper at the end of the semester reporting on the research they helped to conduct.
