PSYC 3400: Psychological Statistics
Are women more emotional than men? Does eating egg whites increase one’s lifespan? We may think the answers are obvious, but sometimes statistics proves us wrong!  The course is divided between lecture and lab. Lectures will focus on statistical concepts and techniques and how to pose scientific questions in psychology. We will also discuss how to critically evaluate the statistical findings you encounter in your everyday life. Lab will provide practical hands-on experience with statistics using SPSS, a statistical software package widely used in psychology.

PSYC 3590: Psychology of the Arts
Art is a universal human activity that confronts us with many puzzling questions. Here are some questions that we will consider: 1) Why do humans enjoy art? 2) Does listening to Mozart make you smarter? 3) Do we base our aesthetic responses on the artwork itself or on our beliefs about how the work was made? 4) What do we gain from the arts?
